Hey Dox....
Rescue will not pay for the dog....they will neuter the
dog and bring him up to date on all his medical needs,
then adopt him out to a completely screened
home where he will most probably stay the rest of
his life.....they do everything in their power to make
sure the animal is being given to the most proper
home for him and if the animal must be given away,
they will take him back and re-home him...it is all
done with legal binding contracts so that the animal
is completely protected....
Amelia....I agree with you in that he should give the
dog to rescue, as this is in the dogs best interest.....100%.....
I disagree with you as far as price goes....if you purchase
a dog from a code-of-ethics breeder, someone who does
all the health screenings, knows about pedigrees and
they show dogs...they usually sell their dogs at a minimum of
alot more than that....it is very expensive to raise a litter to the age of 8wks, if done properly....
Yes, it was way too much for him to pay for a pet store
puppy,as no one should purchase a dog from a
pet store anyway, but that is another issue all together....
Also, a 4-month old puppy, is still a puppy....
Anyhow, Dox....do the right thing for the dog and give him
to rescue....the $600 is not going to put anyone in a higher
tax bracket in the end....
Next time, take your time and do your research.....
Happy to help....
Regards...
