New salt water tank owners, need opinion on our tank stand

We are just starting our salt water adventure and we are just starting to gather some of the supplies. When we went to get the tank we didn't feel comfortable with the press board cabinets stapled together to hold a 1000 pound tank, more or less. We have a friend with a 75 gallon that made his stand about like this, so that's what we did!
This is a 90 gallon pre-drilled tank, do you guys think the stand looks pretty stable or should we add more supports in the middle? There is one going across the middle of the tank as well. We can't put too much across the front as far as supports go since we are putting a fairly large sump tank underneath (I hope that's what you call it). My fiance is doing majority of the research and set up stuff, I just like the forum life, I'm a mod on a ball python forum-hence the name :)

And I'm in Iowa, it's cold outside :)

Another question I have. Should we worry about the structural integrity of our house, lol. Our house was built in 1950 and that wall is the load bearing wall. I'm sure it's a silly question and we have nothing to worry about, but I just want to hear what people think.

Hi and welcome to SWF.COM - I think as long as your sump will go through the sides of the stand you should be alright, personally I would have put a 2x6 on edge under the 2x4 on its flat side, this way your will have good access to your sump and you might have to put your sump in from the front.

Would add more supports for sure.. I would also put some water resistant paint or stain on it.. If your like me and spill saltwater every time i fill/WC its going to eat away at the wood.

Thank you! We just got a pro series sump tank that should fit through the doors that will be on the front of the stand eventually. We may make a door on the side as well just in case we get a bigger sump tank some day.

I think he plans to put another post or two on the middle of each side. We are planning to put plywood over the frame and stain and poly it. I would definitely spill water, lol.

I would have turned those 2x4s at the top to the side instead of flat. Laying them down flat doesn't lend that much support. Skinning it with plywood though would definitely help support everything better.
