I finally had a moment to take some pics of our new setup. It's been a while in the making and I've been reading a great deal on this website for ideas and suggestions. This website is wonderful and I look forward to becoming a regular poster.

Thanks, the tank is 45 gallons. I have about 40lbs of live rock and 40lbs of live sand. I took the pictures with an Olympus E500. The blue lights made it a lot more difficult to get nice pics. I'm envious of how good other people's pics of fish have been. This was a first try and I'll keep working on it. I'm just waiting for the leather coral to finally open up.

Wow!!! :scared: Amazing clarity on those pics! Care to share any pointers with the class on how to get them to be so clear? For instance, are you putting the camera against the glass, or standing back a bit? Dark room, or lights on? Did you turn that blue (6500K?) light you mentioned off? Did you manually adjust the settings on the camera, or just auto point-and-shoot?

Thank you for the compliments. I took the shots with the blue lights on at first and then turned them off. The room lights were on but the flash was off. I had to take quite a few to get some that were acceptable. I had a harm time getting the shutter speed and WB accurate. The pics of the fish were with the camera up next to the glass. That seem to help with holding the camera steady and focusing properly. Next time I'll try to use my tripod. The clownfish weren't thrilled with the camera and kept running away. The mandarin I have just hides and won't let me get a picture.
