New shell for a hermet Crab?

How often do hermet crabs need to have acess to new shells? Mine is a fairly large common hermet crab. Thanks for your help.

Mine seem to change shells often. I have a lot of the same sized ones in my tank. The only one that dosent switch is Big Daddy and this is because he won't fit into any other shells.

slick, how big is your "Big Daddy"? I saw a hermit crab at an lfs here and the thing was at LEAST the size of a football.
