Purity, WATZ UP!! Aint been here in a while.. I gotta hear your words on this. I like it a lot, but it doesn't really sound like slipknot. Hell, maybe I need to give it some time. Others should feel free to chime in...

well i for one love it. i think it's a perfect example of the band maturing. people said the same thing about the black album from metallica.

That's ok fishkiller.
Names have been changed to protect the innocent.
I have one for purity. All you need is a little charm.

their techincal skill on all of the instraments is going DOWN!!! i dont mind if a band wants to mature... thats okay but a band needs to continue to get better at playing their instraments not worse!!! listen to the drum beats on the firs record. then the third. then listen to the guitar riffs on the first then the third. IMO they changed some of the guys in the group and didnt tell anyone.
my vote is.... used to be good.... now they suck.

my problems with the drums are that on the third album there very few spots where the drummer breaks rythm and adds any flair. the entire album is so regimented. i should add that while i said that the record sucked... its not that bad. its just IMO its not their best work.

HEY!! Bite me!! :D You have a point though, cuz they are starting to suck NOW. This really sucks cuz all my favorite groups are either conforming to more mainstream styles, or they are just playing crap. Pantera doesn't exist anymore, and I'm not a big fan of Phil's new Superjoint. Slipknot's sucking. Sepultura now sucks, I heard Soulfly is not lasting much longer. The only group who still has their sh** together is Fear Factory. Their new one is just sweet. Other than that, I've been trying some new one's. Killswitch is one of these. They sound good. Big fan of flaw, but not hard enough for me. I don't know where to go next. Anybody here know anybody who doesn't suck, or even have plans to suck in the near future? I could use some suggestions.

i like the way slipknot's going. iowa was giving me a headache. as far as sepultura & soulfy are concerned, couldn't be farther from the truth. those dudes are still kicking severe ass AND you also left out SLAYER.
i've actually been pickin up on Shadows Fall and Children of Bodem. you like them?

Shadows fall is a little too old-school slayer for me.I don't have anything against slayer, I just don't like when 2 groups sound alike.

Actually, many parts do. IMO of coarse. Then again, I haven't exactly listened to much shadows fall. Didn't give it much of a chance.

i was disapointed with the new slipknot album, but it's been growing on me a lot. fishkiller, you should check out black label society, it's zack wylde from ozzy. you can't go wrong with slayer, and i've been listening to down a bit lately, phil's other side project next to superjoint. hatebreed is one of my fav's, they opened for slayer on the jager tour last year, saw them when they came through and they were awesome. the new pantera, without phil anselmo, (damageplan) is ok, but it's just not the same. fear factory's new one is pretty wicked too.
