New stand Question?

Does anyone have an 180 gallon or bigger sitting on a factory all glass stand.I just went and picked up me new 210 gallon all glass stand and tank and the stand seems kind of cheaply maid.It is the solid black pine stand that they sell.I am just wondering about it being able to hold 2500 lbs when the tank is completely full with rock and sand.

i was at my lfs yesterday and i made the same comment to the owner wondering how his held all that weight but he said he thought it to be about 2000 lbs and no problem.i'm getting ready to build my own.personally i'd have my doubts too

I bought a 180 back in May planning to make my own stand and the pet store tried to hock the stand on me.
Let me tell you, the 180 specifically but all factory stands in general appear very flimsy. They are engineered to hold the weight with as little expense to the manufacturer as possible. Personally, I don't trust them, but ironically enough, those flimsy things are often the only thing they will honor the warranty on.
