New sump question

Am setting up a 15 gallon sump on my 110 gallon reef and have 3-4 inches of SD in display. About how much sand do i put in the fuge to grow macro algaes etc. and what kind of lighting is required for it.

In Mishawaka we have only ***** and Petsmart amd PS does not do saltwater anything. I have heard there is a good one in Niles but not sure of the name. Check the yellow pages.

yeah ive been to the niles one. theres actually 2 up there, aquarium technique and aqua scapes i think are the names. there pretty good
