new tank cycle

Yes I have a 29gl tank and have been reading some post on how to get it started I began to cycle my tank with a raw shrimp and was waiting for the ammonia lvls to come up when the did they can up really high so I did a 25% water change and when I rechecked the lvls the went back to 0. I was wondering what I should do now?

Don't do water changes for awhile. It only slows down the process. The ammonia spike is the first part of the cycle. You'll then see a rise in nitrites followed by nitrates. Once the nitrates have risen and dropped off, do a water change and then slowly add stock.

imo your're taking it too fast. water changes should not be done the first week.
