new tank for a first timer

im startin a small 10 gallon steup which is porb not reccomened but unfoutnatley all the i can do with the amount of space i have. i have a hood but withonly flauresnt bulbs. a good sized power head i belive between 100-125gph and a 50 watt heater and just a hang on filter. in the tank i have about 10lbs of sand and 5 lbs of live rock and from what i read i need more. i did put two blue damsels in b4 i read about the nitrogen cycle and everythin but the are still alive and very energetic. i did notice when i shut offf the light they seem to get very stressed and sluggigh is that normal. also im just looking for any advice possible on how to keep my tank alive and going well. i only plan to keep maybe 2-4 fish on being a clown . any help is greatly apprecaited.

you can do 1 small clown. sebae, percula, or ocellaris. or you can maybe keep both damsels if they survive. no way you can do 4 fish longterm in a 10 gallon.
here's what i would do. first go out and get an 18k bulb for that hood. i would get rid of the damsels asap. once the tank is finished cycling get 1 clown, 2 or 3 snails, a cool shrimp and maybe a chocolate chip star fish.

+1 you really cant do a whole lot with that light and a 10g. if you got a better light you could do a few corals. but i would get rid of the damsels. cal your lfs and see if they will take them for you. get yourself a nice clown and maybe some zoa's or something and then the tank will be super nice
good luck. post up some pics either here or in the Nano section

BEST ADVICE for salt water is take it slow. Its more rewarding when you do also. dont try to load up the tank fast. Let the tank grow into a sustained developement where the cycles are intact and it pretty much takes care of itself.

Get yourself PC lighting and a couple of false perc's .... you'll also be able to have nice corals with the PCs. Unless your lights are off for days the fish should be fine.
