i plan on starting a FO tank with live rock and live sand. the tank is 29g, and i have a millennium 3000 for filter, 150 watt heater, and a protien skimmer. i have a couple of questions before i start it, i am just taking it slow so that i do not make stupid mistakes. what would be the best clean up critter for this type of set up? am i leaving out any vital parts of the set up? how many pounds of LR would be good for this? any input would be appreciated. thanks. :)

Any of the crews on this site for your gallon size would be good. I'd shoot for the larger size crew than a smaller. (IE 30-50G crew vs. a 20-30G crew) I'm partial to red leg hermits and turbo snails. They do a great job.
For a 29g tank I'd get a bout 40-45 lbs of LR.
With the LR and a good skimmer (a Prizm would do nicely on your setup). I'd eventually dump the millennium, don't think it'll do much good after the water clears. May be good for surface aggitation.
For a tank this small you will want to give it some extra time to stabilize. Cycle it with a Damsel of some sort, add the cleaner crew after the amonia cycle, maybe during the brown algae bloom. I'm conservative and would give it's a good 10 week break in before a fish investment.

Don't mix blue leg and red leg hermits - you'll end up with blue and dead ones. Lessons learned. I also have astrea snails, used to have turbos and margaritas but they died - the astreas just keep on going.
