New Tank How much Lighting?

I have a 35 hex that is 23 3/4 inches tall, I currently have only live sand and rock in the tank with a maroon clown. I want to make it into a reef tank with soft coral, sps, lps corals in it. How much lighting do I need?
Will a 150w MH be enough? Coralife makes a hang on MH that is small enough in size to work, my problem is the tank is only 20x23 inches across depending on which direction you measure.

I would go with the 250w MH because of the depth of your tank. The 150w would limit your ability to place the corals near the bottom of the tank.

If you want to save a little $$ go with the 150 watt, you would just have to have the SPS closer to the top, and the softies and LPS near the bottom
