New Tank Need Help Plaese

I bought a 150 gal tank about a month and a half ago. Up until a few days ago all I had in it were some live sand and crushed coral. I took the water to two different places to have it tested. Both places said the water was perfect. I then decided to get some fish for the new tank. I bought two Damsels and a clown fish. To my dismay the fish only lasted about 30 hours. I have had freshwater tanks my whole life, but I am very new to the SWA. What do I need to do now any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have had the live sand and the crushed coral in there for over a month. I don't know if this is enough time or not.

Well just a bit of info it took my tank about 13 weeks to cycle. I had about 40 lbs of LR and 40 lbs of LS and still took that long.... It is posible that your tank has cycled did you test durring this phase? Did you see the spike and fall in the ammonia and nitRites?
I just wouldnt wont you to waste your money on fish if they arnt going to make it through the cycle.. ( and i guess it is kinda mean)

No I know what you are saying. I think I should have my water tested again. They said it was good when I took it to the store, but something has to be wrong with it I guess. What do I know

I have a PH tester which says my water is the ideal PH but as far as the other tests I do not. I am going to the store today to get a full marine test kit.

Yeah you will need them big time.... I am also a rookie so I just know from what i have read and encountered.
I know it is possible to cycle a tank with just LS but dont know how quick it is. Most of the time LR and LS are used (alot about the cocktail shrimp thing on this board never tried it so i dont know how it works)
Please dont take this the wrong way I would suggest that you do a little bit more research on the hobby it will save you lots of money and time..
This boared is helpfull and you can find alot of info here so maybe someone else will chime in and help also.
Please dont take this the wrong way

Yeah man I think I should have done a little more investigating. I talked to this kid at the fish store where I'm at for about an hour. He made it sound pretty simple. I am now finding that he was full of BS. I appreciate the help
