All you need is a big brain and an even bigger wallet book. No matter what you buy you will always have to buy more. So dont think this will be plug and play. just buy the big stuff and expect to buy more. but trust me you will love the hobby. :D

hi blondie i agree with jwtrojan44 he gave you very good advice . i started a 38 gal fo w/ls, dead coral & picture rock for cover and decor w/1 pwr head and 2 whisper filters, heater (thats all i used). you can get a skimmer but that is optional. a good hang on filter u might want to consider is a emperor 400 they are afordable and work nicely,(definatly big enough for your tank). i am transfering to a 75 w/ls,lr, better lighting and the emperor.after it is established the filter media will probably be removed and just used for circulation, with the help of 2 or 3 pwr heads because the ls,lr becomes your filtration.some very hardy fish to start out w/clowns,chromises,cardinals,firefish etc (damsels are nice but aggressive) do a lot of checking and reading but just thought that would give u 1 idea anyway :D :D :D

i almost forgot test kits the main and important ones are ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph. also a specific gravity tester (salt tester). there are other ones but they can come later.
