sorry, i didn't search this out, but my damsels are fighting it out with the new ones. (damsels) i was thinking about using some of the same live sand&rock&water to start a 30 from my 55. it has 135lbs of rock now, and prob. 75 sand. it's been going for 4-5 months and everything tests eXTRemely good. i've added another 2 dominos and a choco star this week and nothing has stirred the water ratings.
so what do y'all think about starting a 30 w/this tanks' water/rock? i'm not going to stupidly add a ton of water/anything to either soon. i'm a gradual adder.

There is no reason not to use the rock. You could use the water as well, but it really has no bacteria value, you will still see some type of cycle going on IMO if you are going to add some new filter that has no bacteria base. If you use the live sand things could go quicker but don't break into any anoxic regions that you may have.
