New tank Questions??????

Got a few ???s First ? is does coraline algae come and go and is there anything i need to do to maintain the purple. 2nd Do i need to add any supplement such as iodine for molting? And i have 2 yellowtail damsels and the one is out swimming throughout the tank while the other hides under a rock now the funny thing is is that once the lights go out they switch places any ideas on this behavior? Tank specs...55ga,50lbs of lr,water is bought from lfs pre-mixed and right now its sg-.23,temp-79,ph-8.2,amm and trite-0, and trate-.5. Any advice would b great. Thank You

Keep your alkalinity, calcium and magnesium in the proper range and the corraline should do fine. Also, be careful on overfeeding or using additives that may add silicates to your water. Your water source is important to. If you have bad water, overfeed, adding silicates,..., bad alage may take over. You don't need to supp iodine if you are doing water changes. Not much iodine is needed and yuour salt will normally cover what is needed. Fish can have all sorts of personalities so I wouldn't fret over their behavior for now.
