New tank set up HELP

I am in no way new to SW. However all tanks that I have started have been from ground up using all new stuff.
I am setting up another 20L to use pretty much as a frag tank.
My question is really about the water. I'm using half (around 10 gallons) of new water and want to know if it is good to take the other half of the water from a 75 FOWLR set up that is currently running. Or should I just start with all new water?

You can do half new and half from your 75g tank. That's what I did with my 28 gallon tank.

i'd start with all new water....why add dirty water to a coral tank....new water good....used water bad.....used water has no bacteria to use anyways

The only reason I was going to use "old" water is because I find that my zoas and rics thrive better under "old" water
more opinions here will be great

As long as sg and temp are matched up with the old water, they realistically should do better.
