I am ready to begin the transfer from my 55 FOWLR to my new 90 gallon. I read the archives on how to do this but I have a question about sand versus cc. My 55 gallon has had cc for 2 years and yes vacumning it is a pain, and it stirs quite a cloud, but dont you have the same issue with sand? How do you keep it clean? Whats the best sand to purchase?

Live sand you don't really need to vacuum. Just keep some things in your tank that will clean it for you. I don't know what the "best" sand to get is. I like to mix a couple of different kinds to make sure I have a good bio diverse sand bed... A good idea when you start is to put dead sand on the bottom then seed it with live sand. That will save you a bunch of money...

any aragonite live sand is good. you dont need to clean the sand and a good brand would be CaribSea.
