i will be getting 2 5gal waterjugs. will fill them upwith ro and start changing over. in the meantime bought aqua,..a. found out that it's ro processed. i am now topping it off with the bottles when water evaporates.
how will this help the tank come along?
right now i have some brown diatoms on the substrate.
about how much longer for die off? 20lbs of cured rock, 20lbs uncured since 03/11. also bought a few shrimp. should i dump them in now? or wait for dieoff to end.

How long have you had your tank, and has it already cycled? Also what are your readings like
amonia, nitrite, nitrate, etc
I see our interest are very similiar  lol to bad you dont play basketball.. they would have been the same!

I started my tank with tap water and water conditioner. I have since only used Wal Mart distilled bottled water and added a cleanup crew. No more diatoms, no algae either. Started my tank on 2/20.

After work tomorrow, my first stop will be Walmart to buy distilled water, for evaporation loss. I am not putting tap water in my tank anymore!
Does anyone know anything about the "Tap Water Filter" (Dionized Water). It is good to use, I have thought about purchasing one of those. :D

if you are going to get anything I would say get a Reverse Osmosis Unit. They are relitivly inexpensive, or you could just keep going to wallmart... but with gas prices the way they are =)... you get the point.. I would stick with RO water though :D

Yeah, I am sick of going to WalMart to buy water already. I spend $9/week on water, so I think I will buy a reverse osmosis unit shortly

Some gas stations have RO units, i just started going to the winn dixie 1 mile away from my house and it has one. I just wish the gas stations RO unit worked, i think it broke down a few weeks ago. I just switch 2 weeks ago and i can already tell the difference. I do a 5 gal water change a week and the tank looks to be doing alot better, i cant wait til all the diatims are gone.
