New tank

Hello, and I hope Im in the right forum.
I have just recently started a 25 gallon saltwater tank 1 week ago. I have approx. 10 lbs of live fiji rock, and was very excited to see small plants (?) and other little critters roaming around.
Anyway.. my questions is what should my tank levels be in its current stage? I have a master salt water test kit, and took the following readings today:
Temp 82
Salinity 1.021
Amonia 0PPM
Nitrate 20PPM
Nitrite 0PPM
PH 8.2
Thanks for the help, and if anybody has any tips or experiences with dealing with a 25 gallon saltwater tank, I'd love to hear them, I very new and can use all the help I can get.
Cheers.

It's still early in the cycleing stage...You want your Nitrates at 0 and IMO your salinity is a little low. I keep mine about 1.023--1.024. But that's just me, I'm sure it varies with other people.
I'd get more than 10lbs of LR for a tank that size also.
Good Luck!

It's not early in the cycle. Now do a 10% water change which will lower your nitrates.
Wait, oneweek ago? Did ammonia and nitrites ever rise?

Your readings aren't correct. You must be using bad water ifyou have nitrates. You should also have some ammonia.

Try doing water changes with RO water only. Since you only have fish in there try keeping the lights off for a couple of days. The fish will be fine. If this helps ,cut your light time down to 5 or 6 hours a day. You can also try feeding them once daily to see if that helps.
I know you don't agree with not stirring up the sandbed, but if you keep doing that your Nitrates won't come down.
Hope this helps...:happyfish
What kind of clean up crew do you have?
