Ok so i have a sickness, I am sure many of you have experienced it before... it is the addiction to SWF tanks! Today I found an acrylic guy in town who was moving to Oklahoma City. He had a 24 gallon custom "square" with overflow and already drilled.
For $40 I got the tank with custom lid, A "wet sock" filtrations unit (this meant the h2o came down went through a 3micron sock, through some bioballs, and back up from the mag drive pump.
On Monday I am going back to buy: a tank length sump/refruiqum and light, probably 20 lbs of LR and 20lbs of LS plus a 25 lb bag of salt for $5
I REALLY NEED ADVICE ON LIGHTS!?!? SINCE THIS TANK MAY BE USED FOR ANYTHING FROM CORALS TO A FUZZY DWARF I WANNA GET SOMETHING VERSATILE
the tank is about 24 inches L and W and no more then 24 inchs H ( i think its closer to 20)
Pictures to come in an hr

If you want unlimited options if you do a reef then I highly recommend 24" Sunpod HQI Metal Hallide 150w. I got a 20" version on my 24gAquapod and it's 14K and best looking lighting I've had. Plus I can get anything from SPS and Clams to mushrooms and zoanthids.

A quality T5 4 bulb fixture will allow you to keep abotu anything, but for really nice color and the natural underwater effects of light shimmer go with MH. Maybe a MH/T% combo unit if you can do that. Might as well go with the best from the start and be done with the lighting problem.
Sounds like you have the beginnings for a great system. Post pics of progress if you can.
And BTW. That was an awesome deal you got.

Thanks Mike that means a lot coming from someone like yourself! I am going to take some pictures of the tank today and I might make a trip to Home Depot to get the wood for my stand.
I did have one question about the wet/dry... How do i know what size pump mag-drive pump 2 get? I wanted to have a 36 inch high stand but I am concerned that I am going to

up the GPH from the pump into the tank because I do not know how much water flows from the gravity fed "exit" bulkhead, into the sock?
