New to forum and Saltwater

Hey everyone, I am about to set up my first water tank in a couple days. I currently have 7 FW setups. One will be the SW tank. I keep a lot of cichlids, and have a heavy planted community tank. So I do have plenty of experience, and won't need the noob explanations lol (most of them) there may be a few new terms for me but I have done a lot of reading. Thanks in advance, and hopefully I have a piece or two of info to share back :)

Welcome to the hobby, and to the site. Feel free to ask lots of questions because you may find that there are considerable equipment and philosophical differences between FW and marine fishkeeping, the most important being that mistakes in SW are very expensive, so ask before you make a mistake. The folks here have made all of the mistakes, and will help you avoid them.

Thanks for the welcomes! Ya I know there's some different equipment needed and used. Like I said I'm not completely in the dark on all of this. But I am going to start a proper thread for the tank.

Welcome to the site...I had freshwater tanks for 30+ years
LOL..7 tanks, imagine what will happen after you get addicted to saltwater!

Haha ya I'm a little afraid of that. I did however manage to go from 12 tanks down to 7 a few months ago so, I'm learning to manage my MTS.

LOL..A few months ago???? My dear, you are so addicted already...you may think you have things under control, but you couldn't go more then a few months without the 5 tanks you just discarded. Now you have found a site that encourages you in saltwater... SHHH don't tell anyone.

Oh no the addiction is more than too far set in. I've had tanks for years. It wasn't until a few months ago I could down size amount of tanks. Notice I didn't say amount of gallons ;)
