New to Nanos

I plan on getting back into marine fish after being away from it for about 25 yrs. The hobbie has changed alot! But I love the idea of the all in ones, Plug and play etc. Red Sea Max, Nano, Bio, Aqua and now today I see Cadlights!! Man this stuff is great. I would like a 25 to 35 gallon tank. The more I research the more it seems that the HQI lighting is a must for all types marine but it seems to raise tank temps so a chiller is needed. Other questions Protein skimmer or not. Is a heater included? Seems difficult to find one tank in the group that is truely an all in one. Cadlights look awsome but everthing is custom. Must get replacements from them. Well look forward to hearing some opinions from you all.

The all in one's are nice but most people end up gutting them anyway. Modding this, changing that, etc. I like the shape of the 24/29g nanocubes, aquapods, and biocubes.
But like I said you'll end up changing a lot of stuff in the end.

is money a restriction? if not those CADs are sweet, there is a 22g and i think a 39g and they come with the lights and all things in the back chamber you need. they also sell a refegium that you can put in the stand. also the ada tanks are sweet because they are just really clean, no brackets around the edges and such...

$$$ are always an issue but no. Looking at that tank range. The thing I like about the CADS just look awsome. The others looked too manufactured if yuo know what I mean. A lot of plastic, very fragile looking. RSM's are a bit sturdier looking though

IMO, i love the nanocubes, thats what i have.. If i was in the market for a nano i think i would go with the 29bio cube. Really solid tank and good price. RSM over-rated IMO

What type of setup do you have?
I have a 29g all glass (30x12x18). I'm drilling it next week for a sump/fuge.
I like the fact that I can add whatever I want on to the system without working around the design. I guess I'm a gadget guy that can't really afford the gadgets lol.
But the AIO's convenience is great. If I had to do it over I would have gone with one while I'm in an apartment. Would've been much much easier.

Yeah There are certainly no shortage of gadgets. When I started looking into this I was looking at a simple 15 to 20 gallons nothing fancy. But the RSM's look great as do the Nano's. Now I am up to 30-35 gallons. We are in a small home so I had an idea where I was going to place the tank, now not so sure. Cost is spiking too. I am praying I find a good dealer and some SALES!!!

Ya there is a lot to this hobby now. My advise: Go as big as you can now, otherwise you'll regret it later.
Oh and find the one thing you can't live without in this system. Be it a fish, coral, invert, equipment, whatever, find that one thing that you must have and build around that.
P.S. 40 breeder tanks are pretty sweet
