just set up my first reef tank.50 lbs live rock,250 watt mh with 2x48 inch atinic .my question is i used aged tap water i just ordered r/o unit. should i do a big water change when the r/o unit comes thanks

No way, that is very counter-productive to the cycling process. Just do a nice 20% water change when your tank is done cycling and you should be ok.
If you get algae bloom from the tap water, just buy a good cleaning crew of hermit crabs and turbo snails.
