New to saltwater aquarium...a few questions

I am an American living in Thailand. I have some live rock that I have placed in my new tank. The tank has been up and running for two weeks and the live rock has been in the tank for one week. I also have a couple of clownfish, and two damsels (all very small) Any way my question is this. The live rock has really beginning to show signs of life. Algae and other life forms. I an wondering what some of these could be.
The lost curious is five or six disk shaped things in various colors and length. They are all rather small, but have tenticles and seem to be doing quite well. What could these be. By the way they are growing on what I would say is dead coral type rock.

Without a picture its kinda hard to tell, but based on your description they could be aptasia. You should do a search on aptasia and see if this is what you have, as they are a nusiance because they grow and propagate so fast. If you can take a pic and post it.

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about those little fuzy things that cling to rocks right. No No the frilly feathery stuff in the sand or the do hicky. Sorry I could resist. So how is Thailand?
