Just acquired a used 75 Gallon tank with a lot of additional tank items. I need some help to identify the items that came with the tank (could take digital pictures and send by email) and also some good on-line places to purchase all needed items, sand, live plants, coral, fish, etc.
Thanks,
Joe

Pictures are attached of the tank I received. It is a 75 g tank with stand. I was told it was set up with a refugium. I have about 30 years experience with fresh water tanks.
These are the items I received with the tank. The smaller tank I understand is to be used as the refugium. The hookups to this I am not sure of. I know the skimmer would be on the main tank and that the PVC should feed from the refugium into the main tank. I am not sure of the remainder of the items, nor how the PVC should be placed along with the larger pump into the refugium tank. There is also a 2 section clear plastic piece that will fit over the side of either tank, but not sure what this is used for or how to place it. Any help in identifying all these items would be greatly appreciated, along with missing or additional items needed in order to set the tank up for water. Thanks, Joe.

I also have 2 light hoods. One with 2 700 W bulbs and one with a 40 w. No other marking are on the bulbs that I can see. Have 2 heaters also along with a box of misc. chemicals, filter cartridges, test kit, etc. Thanks.

The pictures you posted helped alot! the #2 picture is a protine skimmer. #3 is your fuge /sump. #4 and #5 are your overflow #6 is the plumbing from overflow to fuge.
Basically the overflow goes on main tank and this will catch water and take down to fuge which should be set up with plants , livesand, live rock and then returned to the main tank. the protine skimmer takes away materials in the water that will become harmful amonia, nitrite. the fuge will help reduce nitrates and give an area for a pod population. If any questions further do a search for fuge or refuge and this will give more ideas how that is set up.

Well you can do the same set up that I have. The first thing to help you is the overflow goes on the tank like this.

With a 75 g tank, I understand I need about 150 lbs of sand for about a 5" bottom spread. Can I purchase some sort of consumer grade sand locally and mix it with Live Sand?
What kind of consumer sand?
What would be the mix?
Any idea of the time difference for the tank to cycle doing this?
ALSO, basically the same question with Live Rock....
I am sure this question has been answered somewhere here, but I have searched all day in vain. Please forgive this Newbee.
