I am new to the reef world. I bought a 75 gal. from a long term hobbiest and I am dying to get some coral in it. It has cycled and I believe that it should be ready to go. I have an oversized wet/dry, protine skimmer, biological, and two power heads. In the tank I have over 100 pounds of live rock, some snails, hermit crabs, a couple of shrimp, three Florida anemones, and some fish (coral beauty angel, yellow tang, and several sebae clowns that I used to cycle the tank.
I am very interested in getting a flame angel. I have heard that I may run into trouble with my coral beauty. I have the rock set up so that there at eplentu on nooks and crannies that they could hide in. I may have to give it a whirl even if it does not work, however, I would like everybody to get along. Any info would be helpfull.
My big question is how long do I need to wait before I can start putting some corals in the tank. Also, what are the best corals for a beginner. I just moved to Orlando, FL so I have a lot of free time. Checking on water condition etc is no problem. I am interested in color, and longjevity, price is an issue, but as with all of my hobbies, it tends to take the back seat if I "need" or want something. As for lighting, I currently have 2 coralife atinics, and 2 coralife 20,000K bulbs. I also have two free fixtures for bulbs as needed. I weant do do this right the first time, so any help, suggestions, or comments will be apreciated.
Thanks in advence,
Bryan
