hi everyone! I'm new to the fish and saltwater aquarium world. In my set up i have a 45 gallon tank with about a 1" sb, 12lb lr, 5 damsels, one 12" carrot spong, 60 gallon wet/dry filter, one 40 watt full spectrum light, and i think that is about it. I also have a canapy hood. I just found out that if i have a dsb plus enough lr that will/can be my filtering system. So if i do that do i need to have the wet/dry filter? What about this protein skimmer thing that people have told me about? Is this another big device that i need to hang on the tank? Do i need it? How do i use it, what does it do? Also, what is a sump, do i need one, and what is it for? Thanks for any help given. Also, my tank has just finished the "cycling phase". I plan to buy more sand to make a 2.5 dsb and some more rock to get it started. I think i want to start with a fo tank to start...... any suggestions? Thanks again...........
