Well, after a couple of months of buying parts here and there, and a week of playing carpenter and electrician(and painter), my new canopy is done and my new VHO's are hooked up and running. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> I have heard that VHO gives off a better blue color, but holy cow! It looks like a completely different tank now.
I had 4x55 watt pc's(2 daylight,2 actinic), changed the actinics to 6500k, and then added 220 watts of VHO actinic to the 220 watts of daylight pc's. What a difference
I made the mistake of turning everything on to test it with my face about two feet away from the bulbs....... I spent the next 20 minutes running into things, and seeing spots. My girlfriend thought it was pretty funny.
Just had to share my joy with everyone. Whoever said money can't buy happiness, didn't have a reef tank!
