New Xenia?

I picked up a small Xenia from my LFS last Friday evening. My question is, how long does it normally take for the Xenia to start pulsing? I read that a thriving Xenia pulses but a failing one does not. Mine is not pulsing. All of the ends are open, just not pulsing yet. Does it need more light? I have a 14gallon BioCube and I have put him down in the sandbed near the front right side.
Thanks in advance!

not all xenia will pulse. ive noticed that for the most part artificial fraggs from my blue xenia will not pulse while the mother and natural fraggs will. sometimes they only pulse when i add some MicroVert to the water during feeding times. its kind of iffy. i wouldn't worry, pulsing or not, if they're alive they're thriving. xenia are very hardy.

I read that fragged xenia sometimes lose their pulsing ability. This doesn't mean they are failing though.

I put mine in the tank and they started pulsing with in a day. A piece that was on the LR that I got fell off and floated around my tank for a while and seated itself in my tunnel upside down. That was 2 weeks ago, the piece was litterally 1/2" long. Now it has 3 more small sprouts out of the main trunk and its over 1" long, no light, and its pulsing. How are the levels of Iron in your tank? The Xenia eat it up like crazy, and with a smaller 14 gal cube you may want to check it out. Just my 2 cents.
