I am so excited over my new xenia. I know some of you hate it, but I saw this and had to have it. It's been in the tank for about an hour and is opening well. I know they say they don't ship well, but this guy looks great. I hope it makes it

Not ship well???
They are very tough, it will take a week but it should be fine. congratulations...I love Xenia, they are my favorite. To me they look like they are dancing when they pulse in the current.

Flower taught me some valuable tips about xenia when I got mine a while ago.
1.) they are very hard to kill. even if it looks dead it probably isnt. I beleive it was Flower who told methat hers melted into goo one time and came back ok. If not for that information i would have thrown mine out. after my tank move i forgot the xenia in the holding tub with no heater for 4 hours. it was melted and stunk something awful. I put it back in the tank anyways and the next day it was full and the stalks were white like they should be. 2 weeks after that they started pulsing.
2.) nobody knows why they pulse. if you're doesnt its not the end of the world. mine went for 3 months with no pulsing and then one day. pulse pulse pulse.
3.) they do tend to spread, mine has split from 2 medium sized stalks to 4 mediaums and 3 smalls in the 3 moths Ive had it. I beleive flower says they move UP if they can.
good luck
