New Zoas not opening anymore

I bought a small frag with about 17 zoas a week ago. The day after I bought them they opened up nice and full. The day after that not so much. Now thry pretty much stay closed all the time. I have a 14 gallon bio cube with stock lights and had placed them about 3 inches below the surface. After they stopped opening up I moved them to the bottom of the tank thinking they were getting too much light.
All my params are good. What do you think the problem is????

Also depends on how much flow is hitting them. I had the same problem with some blues. My powerhead was facing them and I guess they didnt like it.

There are a number of things that can cause zoas to stay closed; flow (as previously stated), a number of different type of zoa predators (most but not all of which an iodine dip will help), irritants (like nearby aiptasia or thread worms), disease, lighting, lack of iodine or other trace elements, and algae growth on and over the polyps (especially cyano). How old is your system? Have you made any recent changes? Did you dip the zoas before placing them in your tank (should always be done)? When did you do your last water change? And finally, do you have any algae blooms occuring at this time? If covered in algae, brushing lightly with a very soft toothbrush or even your finger, will sometimes remove it.

im having the same prob, but only with one of mine, the rest are growing like weeds and ive had them in the tank now about a month then my orange ones started closing up and acted strange, i dont dip mine but mabey i should now
they dont have to much flow and my perams are good its just my oranges everything else is doing great and i got my first frag a couple of days ago from my zoas and its already multiplying again!
