I never really worry about zoos I just add them to the tank never had a problem. I do however suggest an dip made for corals though to make sure you dont add zoo eating nudi or flat worms to the tank. that are common hitchikers on zoos.

well it depends on what coral dip you use. You use the dip directions some are 1 part solution to 2 parts water and mix. place the coral in the solution for 5 minutes or so *depending on dip* and then place in the tank.
here is the suggested use for kents coral dip.
Description: Parasite and Bacterial Dip for Corals
Type: Medication
Description: Kent Marine Tech•D Coral Dip & Conditioner disinfects corals and many other invertebrates to prevent the spread of bacterial and protozoan disease • Designed for all stony corals, and most soft corals. • Tech•D is economical to use, each ounce will make about 1½ gallons of dip!
Directions: Note: This product is a dip, for use outside the aquarium only! Place a quart (950 ml) or more of aquarium saltwater in a container, depending on the size of the animal to be dipped. Observe good practice for temperature, salinity etc. Add one teaspoon (5 ml or 1 capful from an 8 or 16 oz. bottle) of Tech•D Coral Dip & Conditioner per quart (or liter) of water in the bucket and stir. Place the coral in the container for 6 to 7 minutes. Remove the animal from the container and place in the aquarium.

BTW I would like to say research the coral before dipping some dont dip very well or can be killed by it.

Also a hand full of snails.Any thing actually worth keeping besides the pods? The worms are red with a black streak... and lots of little white legs. Thanks for any help.

Those are probably brislte worms.
what do you mean when you say it look like a lettuce nudi are you sure it was a lettuce nudi or do a search for zoo eating nudis or something and see if maybe thats what you ended up with. I cant remember the name of them though.

The Nudi's look like the zoo eating kind in the hitch hicker thread. they gotta go. The worms don't look like anything in the thread but the are going as well.
The snails look like the stomatella variety so the can stay.
Thanks

a very common hitchiker on them and can devastate a zoo population quickly.
Glad you Id thing and getting rid of them. If I were you I would QT that rock and coral until you got a dip and dip them to get rid of the ones you dont see.

here is the link the stuff that referenced above is Kent marine tech-d there are several different companies that make the dips and kent offers a few differents ones also.
whatch the next few days to see if you got them all if you start loosing polyps I would say you didnt get them all off and need to take a different route. .

cool thanks for the help and I'll keep an eye out. If I have any problems I know where to find ya.

Think I should say anything to the fish store about these hitch hickers or are they that common no matter what?
They keep all of their stuff in a large propigation type tank. So everything is probably "infected" .

I would let them know that you got some of them on your zoos there may not be anything they can do imediately it would take a lot for them to dip an entire system but atleast you will know that you done the right thing and let them atleast know about it. That also tells you to watch the corals you get from here for them. but they are pretty common

if nothing else, a fresh water dip will kill the nudis. also look for egg sacks, they are white in a spirl. scrap them off.
I read some stuff on the dip mentioned above, and it says not to use on polyps.
you might look at lugol's solution.
