Have had my live rock in my 29 biocube for 2 days, the live rock came with green plant like organisms that look like a stemm with tiny bubbles on it. Can anyone help me is this good/bad algae, or something else? Do I need to get rid of it? Thanx

It sounds like bubble algae. If so it is bad. Take a tweeser, and break it off at rock, without breaking the bubble.

I have seen pics of bubble algae and it does not look like it to me, I will try to post a picture. The bubbles are tiny and attached to a stem. Thanks for the info.

I'm getting the same type of thing on the LR in my tank (short stem with a tiny upside-down teardrop shaped flat bubble). Did you ever figure out exactly what it was, and how did you get rid of it? I have several snails in my tank and they all seem oblivious to this stuff!

It is called "grape algae" by many people. It is beneficial in that it provides oxygen, but it began to overpopulate my tank. It is very easily picked off by hand. My emerald crab loved it, and I've seen tangs eating it. I eventually got tired of it and removed it completely.
I hope this helps, search for grape algae and see if it is the same as what you have.
