Newbie cycliing questions

I am curently cycling a new tank right now that has crushed coral as the subtrate, and my question is. Can i switch over to a (DSB) right now durning the cycle.. or do i have to wait untill the cycle is over before i do the change. Any advise would be greatly apreciated.

I would change to a DSB now, during the cycle, and not wait until afterwards, as you would be waiting for the cycle to complete, then cause a new one when you change to a DSB. HTH

If you cahnge now your cycle will actually speed up. The live sand already has some bacteria that you will nedd for your cycle. I say Go for it!
