newbie needs help on lighting...

I have a 55 gallon FOWLR right now and I am interested in starting to keep other things ( i.e. anenomes, corals, ect. ) Right now I have just the basic flourescent lighting that came with the set-up. I would like to update to VHO's. Do I need to update my light fixture or can I just stick new bulbs in...??? I am new...please help.

no you cannot stick VHO in a regular flourescant
fixture, you will have to buy a new setup for
VHO. Ive been looking in getting VHO myself.

I am not a DIY'er. About how much would it cost to upgrade and what would be the best way to upgrade whereas money IS sort of an issue...?

Go to petsolutions.com and buy an Icecap 660 and a couple sets on end caps depending on how many bulds you want to run.

I just upgraded to vho. I was trying to decide on whether getting pc or vho. mh was too expensive for me right now. Check out championlighting.com and read their info on vho. I purchased a two strip ice cap vho hood from them this morning. I've compared pricing to several other sites and so far they were the cheapest.
