Newbie pH question

My new 55 has been set up since last Saturday. I have been doing daily water tests and it seems as everything (ammonia and nitrites mostly) are increasing as expected. I'm just a little concerned about my pH. It has been holding steady between 7.8 and 8. Will this change as my cycle progresses??
Thanks

no, ph is not affected by cycling. if you want to raise the ph to 8.2, add Proper Ph 8.2 and then it should stay at 8.2

I add a dash of proper Ph8.2 to every 3 gallons of water that I add to my tank. Not alot. just about a finger pinch.

Beth one more thing, It's not a good idea that you are changing your water on a daily basis if you just set it up last Saturday. You should really only be changing your water once a week. After the tank is cycled and you are having problem you should be changing the water on a BI daily basis. when you change the water everyday you remove the nutrients that the water needs for the tank to cycle. Just a note...slow down to once a week for right now.

Thanks for the help everyone. Weberian is right...I'm only testing my water daily. I have not done any water changes yet...only a top-off. I likely will not do a change until the tank has cycled. :happyfish
Thanks again,
