I'm setting up my tank . It is a 55 gallon and is going to be a reef tank. I wondering what my options are. Also what is the best way to go about doing this?
Thanks for any help

Some questions and thoughts
1. Is it drilled? If not consider doing this so you can run a sump/refugium under your tank.
Check out the thread on Peefs 55g in the Reef Tank Forum
2. Going DSB or shall sand bed?
3. Do you know what light system you're going to be going with?
4. Carbon or no carbon?
5. Types of corals your interested in?

If you want to do it right IMO, drill the tank. You will be so much happier with your options if you do. On a 55 you might want to consider T5s rather than MH - I've never run them myself, but I know that single MH light on my 65 causes heat issues and those who use T5s say they don't have heat issues. With either T5s or MH you should be able to keep almost any coral that you want. Get a good skimmer and go with the hydor PH rather than maxijet or the others. The hydors have major advantages over the others IMO (magnetic attachment, nondirectional water flow, etc)
Just a few suggestions because of issues I've had to deal with.

is there a thread that has directions on drilling. If i drill i will take it to a pro. What supplies will i need after it is drilled. Never heard of the hydro ph? Are they expensive

Don't know about threads with directions, PM Dennis210 and ask for a diagram on drilling. This thread has suggestions for hole sizes etc. if you haven't checked it out yet, and I'm sure he'll give you some suggestions as well.

Dennis210 can give you an idea on plumbing materials as well. The hydor (sorry I misspelled it) PH aren't much more expensive than the maxijets - don't know if they sell them on this site or not, but most major suppliers online do. Just google hydor powerhead.
