What kind of bio -loase do sponges put on a tank? I just added a serpent star and a Chocolate Chip star to my tank. The store had a nice 10 inch tree sponge that caught my eye. I really know nothing about these animals. Of course i wanted opinions and advice before I bought it. SWF.com says that they like hi flow and low light, of which I have plenty in my tank.
44 gal pent tank
10 gal sump 2 bio wheels
2003 jebo skimmer
soon to be added 5/ten gallon refuge
130 watts pc
30 lbs of live rock
70 lbs dead rock
40 lbs live sand
5 damsels
1 Fire Fish
5 Hermits
5 snails
1 choc chip star
1 serpent star
Would it be safe to add into this setup? Thanks much.:D

I hope you don't plan on adding any coral to your setup with the Chocolate Chip Star in ther, they are not reef safe and will if hungry enough eat coral. I had to get rid of mine.

I wasn't planning on adding in coral. Possibly an anenome in the far off future. But as far as I can tell sponges are not corals, so this brings me back to my orginal question, can I add one to my tank?
