My 30 g FOWLR has been up and running close to 9 months now. Ive kept it pretty simple because I am in college and can't afford alot, although it has helped me go slow and take my time. I currently have 2 tomato clowns, 1 flame angel, 5 turbo snails, two blue legged hermits and a camelback shrimp. I'm considering possibly adding a firefish, but also might want to add some smaller critters as well. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I have 2 firefish in with a flame angel and several other species and I would certainly recommend them. They are very active and fun to watch but they like hiding places, so you might want to bear that in mind. good luck!

30 gal and you have 9" of fish now
1" per 5 gal =6"
sound like you may be ready for larger aquarium.
if your fish are happy, dont push it.
you got a good thing going.
get better light and go for anemone.
IMO firefish do better with smaller fish
good luck

if you want to spend a million dollars on lighting, go for an anemone.
don't pay attention to the inch of fish per gallon. if you have plenty of circulation and a good filter, then i would say go for it! :happyfish

Your pair of tomatos may prevent you from adding any other fish IMO. Plus, you could be pushing a bit for your bioload. There's always some danger in losing everything if your filtration cannot handle your added bioload.
I would suggest a pair of skunk cleaners, if not blood fire shrimps. They are awesome to watch. Fire shrimps are shy though as they take a lot longer to adapt to the new environment. Mine took over 3 weeks before he decided to come out and walk around.
If you wanna try a fish, go with a small fish like a clown goby. They stay small and very active as well.

go with the firefish, very pretty and hardy. A little skiddish at first but they will get used to the tank and be out most of the time. Would not recomment the anemone at this time as Kitty said. They need mature tanks a decent lighting.
