NFL Network and Live games

Did anybody notice on Saturday night that the NFL networks televised game was poorly done .... from the announcing all the way to the picture and sound qaulity.
That anouncing was flat out dull, I would rather listen to Buck and Aikman and I hate those guys.
Half the info they were giving out was incorrect... they gave a profile for Marion Barber but brought it up with a picture of T.O.
The game was televised for me as HD because it was on the comcast INHD channel and it was just as bad as a regular antenna picture. The Audio was hissy.
I think that they should stay out of the televising live games businuss and leave that up to the professionals like CBS and FOX.

I think televising games is the first big step to legitimacy for the network. They do need a good play by play and color guy, no doubt. I personally like Buck and Aikman among the best of the duos now that I've listened to them a while. They seem to like each other, and both know the game. The most aggravating thing to me is when two broadcasters clearly hate each other and drop snide little retorts after disagreeing with the other's comments.

I agree 100%. The picture and sound quality was HORRIBLE!! The announcing was just as bad if not worse
This whole thing is really just a big scam by the NFL. Very few cable companies carried NFL network because it is VERY expensive. I read it was like the 5th most expensive cable channel but only like the 80th most watched. So how can the NFL force companies to carry it? Put live games on and watch the fans scream and yell to their cable companies. The cable companies are then forced pay out the nose for it, get 4 months of viewers and then get 8 months of ZERO viewers except for draft week.
Great deal for the NFL, not so good for the cable companies or their subscribers whose rates i'm sure will get jacked up.

I've noticed it for all the games they have televised. I missed the first one THanksgiving night as I was up at my cabin in the mountains.
It reminds me of a B movie.

Really? I have DTV and haven't noticed a change in pic or sound. Gum-ball is another story. Man is he flat as a board. Collinsworth does nothing for me either. Just the calls and plan mistakes made are just stupid.
My local sports pack came with NFL. I didn't even realize what a big deal it was until the games started airing there. I will say that I love NFL replay, it has made up for some p[oor Tivo choices this season.

Do you have HD? I also have DTV but not HD. The sound on NFL network isnt too bad but the picture is HORRIBLE. Literally, it is the worst quality BY FAR of any of the channels i have, not even close. During the Cowboys game my wife actually stopped and asked what was wrong with the satellite because the picture was so bad.

i think thier coverage, camera angles and sound are better than CBS's... commentators on the other hand i can totally do without!!! Gum-ball has a bad voice, and i just cant stand to look at or listen to Colinsworth... did anyone also notice the Collinsworth want there Sat night... what were they thinking putting Mariucci in with larengitis raspy voice??? then at the half Deon and Marshall tried, but didnt do to well at all...

I think it was Vermeil that couldn't talk. Deion and Marshall tried but failed miserably. Doesn't Collingsworth work for another network also?

I think FOX does a pretty good job but what I can't stand is when they superimpose that arrow on the field that says the down and yards to go. I almost feel insulted by it. 1- I don't need the arrow. If I don't know which way the offense is going I probably shouldn't be watching in the first place. 2- I don't need the down and yards to go again they already have it on the top of the screen.
I agree that the NFL network is awfull. It's almost hard to watch even in HD.

Talk about feeling insulted the other RETARDED thing that Fox does is highlight the team that is winning when showing scores. Everytime i see it when they are showing scores i think the highlighted team has the BALL, rush to the computer to check fantasy and realize that no, that team doesnt have the ball. I mean are they crazy?!?!?! What exactly is the point of highlighting the teams that are winning? Do we really need a highlighted name to know that Chicagos 21 points are more than Tampas 3 points????? I thought everyone over the age of 2 could figure that out by themselves :notsure:
Also, they need to do what CBS does with stats. After every play, CBS shows at the top the player who just threw/rushed/received stats. Its great. Sometimes Fox goes forever without showing player stats like its 1984 still.

I totally agree. I love when CBS does that with the stats.

At least they televise the games i guess ??
For Baseball if its broadcated on fox and you dont live in the area it gets blacked out even if you purchased extra innings ..... I get so steamed over the MLB and FOX blackout guidelines.
