Night light in a reef tank

Hello all,
how many of you use some sort of night light? Except the moonlight systems what may be the light source? May a simple incandencent lamp be used? Are there any advantages or disadvantages of using nightlight?
Oh to many questions....

Hey there! A lot of the folks on the board use a small 15-25 watt red or blue "party" light as a night light. The nice thing about them is that you can watch the nocturnal critters scurry around the tank.

Exactly, do a search on nitelights or moonbeams, there are many threads on this,

I don't have one on my tank, but think I may put one on mine also.
