Night shot of my new Coco

Very nice
Does it come out during the day? I had a worm rock (I know they aren't the same) that only came out after the lights were off cause the fish movements scared it. Very disappointing cause the colors were beautiful. My cousin has a double headed coco worm that doesn't retract even when touched by a fish, wondered if yours was the same?

At first I thought it had one head but I think I see two. It has slowly been coming out more during the day. I had to move it around several times due to current. I have it in my cave now and he seems to be happier. There is just enough current in there so he can still get food. I wish that he ate pellet food because it would be easy to drop them in his tube when he retracts. I also wanted a yellow coco but got tired of waiting so I got this color which is more common I think.

His tube is curled up but I would say it's at least 12 inches. The diameter of the tube is close to an inch. He's a lot heavier than I expected but it's probably due to it's hard shell and the shell was probably full of water.

that's about twice the size of any feather duster i've ever seen. are their care levels similar?

I was surprised to find them as being labeled as difficult to care for mainly due to starvation. They typically will starve around 6 months (per book statements). I heavily feed my tank so I will do what I can. I was surprised to see them labeled as difficult because I see them very often in my LFSs. I guess most people that starve them to death just think they had them long enough and they just died of natural causes. I'm not sure how long they can live if fed properly.
Also I just read this:
It is extremely intolerant of poor water quality and copper-based medications.
I change my water once a week and I test my parameters every other day (I know ...overkill). So I will be doing all I can

Very nice! Let us know how it does. I will be following your progress. I have been considering getting one.

That guy is very nice!
I have read that some species have an estimated life span that could be in the 100's!
Very cool! Keep us updated, I have never had them because everything I have read about them in the aquarium says they are very hard to keep.

Your coco is really good looking! I had one that was about 8in long, he was healthy and happy too untill....I bought my Barnacle Blenny. The blenny made my coco jump ship so that he could live in his tube! :scared:
The coco was eaten by my little lobster before he could make a new home.

Anyway, yours looks great!
Here is a really bad picture of my Barnacle Blenny in my Coco worm's tube!

Sorry to hear that. My blenny had better stay away but he sure likes to go places others can't.
