Nikon 5700 users PLEASE

Okay i have had this camera for a few months. It takes great shot. But when i try to take tank shots you can't see the fish light. So when i look through the view finder it looks great but when i take the picture and look at that it looks like I'm taking pictures of my tank without the lights on. If you have a nikon 5700 could you please tell me the flash or white balancing setting you have the camera on.

okay i answered my own question just had to read the book. but i guess if anyone else cares I had to turn the flash off or use the slow sync mode. Earlier i was messing with the white balancing and that wasn't making a differance.
