Nitrate Eliminators?

Has anyone had any experience with a so called Nitrate Eliminator? My LFS was trying to get me to buy this product to assist in lowering my Nitrates. This is the product they reccomended to go along with my water changes:

i have a bottle of that but after reading the directions it will probably just sit under the tank i have a 150 gal and counting all those drops no thanks just increase your water changes they will come down what are the trate readings anyway?...tobin

OK, cool. My Nitrates are 25ppm. Is that acceptable?

It's a little on the high side. But unless its a reef its acceptable. But still not good for the fish. The optimal level on nitrates is 0. I wouldn't use that product. IMO don't put anything in your tank you can't test for. Just make sure you aren't skimping on those water changes. Try to increase them a bit. If ALL ELSE fails, maybe try a few doses of that to see if it works. But I would use it only as a last resort
