I was wonderin how you go about getting the Nitrate levels down and keep them down. I do water changes about every 2-3 weeks religiously. This is on my 29gal fowlv tank.Three fish Yellow Tang,Percula Clown,Niger Trigger.30# lr. Tank is about 9 months old now.All other levels are great just can never seem to get the nitrate level down . I know it is not toxic but i know it should be about 40-50 ppm. Any help appreciated

Cycle does nothing to reduce nitrates! It is for starting a cycle that ends at nitrates. Nitrates are reduced by a different type of bacteria. Jwillis you may not be able to lower your nitrates much with that type and amount of fish in a 29 gal. Nitrates ARE toxic just not as toxic as ammonia or nitrites. It is still pollution and increases the chance of your fish becoming sick. Water changes and very little substrate like 1/2 in may help.
