I understand that the lower the nitrate the better. I have had my 40 gal f* o for about 16 months. I have recently put in a cpr bakpak to replace a worn out skilter (used). I have 1 clown, 1 yellow tank, 1 lunar wrasse. My ammonia, nitrite levels are always 0. I can not seem to get the nitrate below .20. Is this common? Am I trying for zero nitrate without realizing that it is impossible? I use a water filter for all h20 changes. Any and all input would be great! Thank you!
