has anyone ever heard of this. my friends friend has a 72 gallon . same water for years.. many fish in tank. its a fish only tank. says he never does water changes and his nitrates are zero? says it costs about 500? does anyone know about these new systems.. supposedly just a few yrs on the market.. just throwing this out there

Sounds like a denitrafier from dupla or tunse they go back a few years.It works buy moving water threw the unit very slowly,completety contained no lights and use tablets that go into the chamber breeds anerobic bacteria.goes back to the early 80s.

I did hear once of someone claiming to never do water changes, I don't remember hearing about that type of system though--very interesting. Think of it----no water changes, algae to scrape, decorations to clean, cc to vacuum, equipment to swear at or all the other rotten things that make us love this hobby so much. I don't believe it! There's always a catch or some fine print somewhere.
