If they are pretty high, then your system is likely not set up in such a way as to naturally export nitrates. Describe how you tank is set up including filters, type of sand, live rock, etc.?
the nitrate just recently went way up. i have a Fluval, skimmer, live rock and live sand. i may just have to do a water change, but is there another way around it?
So how do you naturally export nitates. My cidlid tank nitates never get to high, and theres over 50 fish in a 120. my salt water tank seem to have higher nitates with only 3 fish. any advice be great. thanks
