Ok this has been set up for like 3 weeks, My Nitrates were about 100 now they jumped to probably 200 my reading stops at 100. I put some live bacteria in yesterday. The LFS told me to just sit on the tank for a while. Should I just let it continue to cycle or start doing some water changes. Only MY live rock in there some bristle worms showed up last night, I can see some hair alge growing not much, some little white balls growing kinda looks like black widow egg sacks. Let me know Im in no rush to put fish in.
Thanks

The LFS told me to add them to consume some of the nitrates.
Here are my levels
PH=8.0
Nitrite=100+
Ammonia=>0.25
SG=1.025
PPT=32
thanks

Your tank is still cycling, I would start a water change routine to help get your nitrates down. Unfortunatly your LFS was not accurate with telling you the added bacteria will eliminate nitrates. You have 2 forms of bacteria in your tank nitrifing and nitratfing. So ones that turn ammonia into nitrites and another type that converts nitrites into nitrates. The end result is nitrates, nothing eats or "takes care" of them but regular maintanence water changes and a light bio load. IMO Leave everything the way it is do a water change 25% or more to help get your nitrates down, you can even do another one 3 to 5 days after the first. Test your levels again, be prepared to do more water changes. FWIW It would be in your best interest to get your own liquid test kits and test your own water so you can observe what is happening on a daily or even every 3 day basis until your cycle is complete.

My LFS trys to sell me that crap all the time and IMO its a waste. What test are you using? And like perfect said just do some water changes and let it be
