How high is it exactly? What are the rest of your water readings? How old is the tank?

Hhmmm..hopefully someone who can help more will catch this but, I can tell you I had a nitrite reading in my tank once before and even a 50% water change didn't help. BUT the better news is that there was just a thread floating around in the last week or so in the new hobbyist forum that said nitrites aren't as toxic to saltwater fish as we think they are.
Hold on, I will try to find the thread for you.

okay, if you're still out there, I just bumped it up to the front of the new hobbyist forum because I couldn't figure out how to get the thread # and post it here. It's titled help, nitrite problem
